What is Enhanced Recovery After Surgery?

The complexity of surgical care demands the skill, commitment and collaboration of an inter-professional team throughout the perioperative period. Bundling of best practices or evidence-informed guidelines has led to improved patient outcomes in many types of treatment. Enhanced Recovery protocol is a continuum of patient care from the initial diagnosis to home care aiming to optimize patient experiences and outcomes.

La Clinique Duval continues to innovate

Our treatment protocols are constantly evolving. In 2022, thanks to our entire team’s collaboration, we implemented an optimized anesthesia protocol. We have named this protocol SOLIS. This protocol combines short-acting spinal anesthesia based on chloroprocaine, the absence of opioids or benzodiazepines, local anesthetics, and propofol sedation. We evaluated the results of 906 patients who received this technique at the Clinic in 2023. The results were published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal. The results are extraordinary, with exemplary pain control, a very low complication rate, and patient satisfaction of 96-98%. You can read the scientific article via this link.
